Ellen Gunderson Traylor
Montana Woman
The Guest House on the Gardiner Property is a lovely abode, which Ellen finished to a beautiful décor available by reservations for presenters of seminars, etc.
The house is a nice walk up the lane from The Center and Port Hole Books. Here are a few pictures taken as I was moving in, while I lived there, and later, when Ellen finished it for guests. *** There are a few area photos I took at Winchester Bay and the beach at the Umpqua River Lighthouse.
The metal sculpture when entering Gardiner is from Wikipedia.
Be sure to check out all of Ellen's Facebook sites.
Port Hole Books is special. Her sense of humor and touches of
detail reigns supreme in many images and her love of books
and reading is powerfully evident.
It is a very special place!

On September 25, 2021; while doing more research on Port Hole Center for this site, I found an old post from 2014, which told about the near completed work on The Center. And my work and planned retirement from working with Ellen. It was the first time I'd seen the post, and it really touched my heart to see what she wrote.
I want to share it with you. Here is is:

Port Hole Center Multi-Use Event Complex We are here to serve you with a beautiful complex of spaces to house events. Our goal is that you will return again and again to enjoy this versatile facility.
With several On-Call local resident assistants, we are ready to make your event all you hope it will be. The property, buildings and grounds are maintained by our groundskeeper, Jason Bauder. "Jason can do it," we often say, and he smiles and does the job. There are also others who have contributed to this amazing renovation. Ruth Kirkpatrick has been our 70-something "Girl Friday," Known as "Digital Ruth” for her book covers, artwork and web design for Port Hole Books and Publishing. She is retiring as of October 1, 2014, so our facility will be looking for a multi-tasking handi-girl or couple to assist in many activities, the book shop and more. Thank you, Ruth, for your help along with so many others, in bringing the opening of Port Hole Center to fruition! And of course, Ellen Traylor is the property's primary manager, along with her husband, Richard Schulz, the facilitator. Let us know how we might serve you!
